What we collect

Sign-in is handled by Clerk. Clerk stores your login details, including any password, and we never see or store your password. We keep your email address and an account ID so your puzzles, saves, and history stay linked to you.

Red Fox Gate doesn't take payments and keeps no billing information. Paid membership was retired, and the records linking accounts to Stripe have been deleted.

When you play a puzzle, we record your result, such as whether you finished and how long it took, so you can see your history and creators can see how their puzzles are doing. If you are not signed in, we store a one-way hash of your IP address instead of the address itself, which lets us count unique players and limit abuse.

Puzzles you create are stored with your account. Anyone with a puzzle's link can play it while its link is turned on. If you join a live activity such as Lightning, Chorus Lines, or Give or Take, the host sees the display name you choose and your answers.

If you report a puzzle, we store the reason, any details you write, and either your account ID or a hashed IP address.

How we measure use of the site

To see whether shared puzzles get played and whether creators manage to publish, the site counts a few events: opening a shared puzzle or a creator (and whether you arrived from a shared puzzle or the Workshop), starting and finishing a puzzle, publishing (or failing to), saving puzzles made without an account into an account, and starting or joining a live activity. Each event records only its name, the puzzle type, whether you were signed in, and when it happened. Events from the same browser tab share a random visit ID that is kept in the tab's session storage and is gone when you close the tab. It is not a cookie and is not linked to your account, your IP address, or your other visits. If your browser sends a Do Not Track signal, these events are not recorded.

How we use your data

Your data is used solely to provide RedFoxGate services: authentication, puzzle saving, game progress tracking, and keeping shared content safe. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties beyond the service providers named above.

How long we keep it

Nothing expires automatically. Your account, puzzles, play history, live-activity results, and reports stay until you delete them or ask us to. If that changes, we will update this page before any cleanup begins.

Cookies and browser storage

We use essential cookies for sign-in sessions and to keep you connected to a live activity you join. We do not use advertising or analytics tracking cookies.

Games save progress, drafts, and preferences in your browser's local storage on your device. Clearing your browser data removes them.
